In  1982  the  graduates  Batch 1977 of Burauen Provincial High  School   (BPHS)   now  the  Burauen Comprehensive  National  High School (BCNHS) has  been  actively  reviving the spirit of the memorable high school days. The revival was started by way of annual reunion during the holidays more particularly during Christmas season. However, due limited or non-participation of some other batch mates, the core group  decided to change  the annual  reunion to Sta.   Cruzan, an event that held during summer time and has a religious significant value as a Filipino Christian community. This is somehow an occasion equivalent to annual reunion activity to the high school graduates (Batch 77), wherein the particular sponsors of the Sta. Cruzan shall mandatorily attend his/her schedule of sponsorship date year.

For more than two decades, the flames and spirit of Batch 77 still goes on and more and more batch mates/classmates are attending the memorable gathering annually. Even our classmates who are working abroad are going home for vacation during the summer period just to attend the said event.

The Sta. Cruzan for this year (2009) was sponsored by the very energetic batch mates; Nilo T. Ontimare,  Roberto “Bobby” Casuela, Vicente “Itik” Equipaje,  Martin “Abet” Equipaje, Mario Relador Samuel “Sammy” Alpino, Aurora Raga Alpino, Romeo Chavez, and Eulogio “Yoly” Estrella. The venue was held at Nilo T. Ontimare residence in Brgy. Guinarona, Dagami, Leyte last May 30, 2009. The affair was attended by more than 50 individuals bringing their families. The Sta. Cruzan started three days prior to the culmination date or feast day, wherein novenas were conducted every afternoon by our very dedicated parag pangadi or parapamatbat nga mga classmates. Moreover, a short program was prepared also to enthusiastically charge the event livelier. This includes the participants’ registration with their corresponding present address and contact numbers, the parlor games activities, videoke singing and the unforgettable dance showdown.
